430 miles / 7 hours, 30 minutes

Skies were still cloudy when I awoke, but the rain had stopped. The roads were still wet but the air felt crisp and clean. As I came in to Maine last night I was unable to see much of anything except for brake lights of the trucks ahead of me. I was looking forward to seeing the countryside in the daylight because The state of Maine would be one of the most beautiful that I have ever visited. Lots of trees lakes and streams and light traffic everywhere I went. There were lots of terrific landscapes and it was obvious that logging is a big industry here.

This was a small mileage day for me, but a big day otherwise, because I will hit the 3rd corner. I got to Madawaska about 2:00 PM, turned around and came back to the same room I had the night before. This is the only time where I stayed in the same room for more than one night. I passed 7000 miles today and had no rain all day long. My long days in the saddle from Key West to the north are finally paying off. I have 10 days to get to Blaine, WA and it should not be any problem.

Cumulative motorcycle return waves today: 223
